Virgil and Betty, 50th Anniversary

Christmas of 2001
Front row: Carol and Betty
Back row: Wendy, Amy, Jennifer and Jonathan

I am enclosing a couple of pictures. The one of Virgil and myself is 1997, our 50th anniversary picture. Virgil died in May 1999 so my life changed a lot after that. The other picture with our children is new as of this past Christmas. All are teachers, 3 with masters degrees. Jenny and Wendy teaching Jr. High Science; Carol, 2nd grade; Jonathan, Voc Ag.; and Amy, Early Childhood.

I retired in 1986 when our last child graduated from college (Amy).

There are 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. My oldest grandchild, Suzanne is an M.D. in Family Practice; one grandson is in a masters program in geology, and two granddaughters are sophomores, both at Butler.

I am involved in Chenoa Historical Society, Woman's Club, Arts and Travels Club (which was organized in 1908) and I am a Chenoa Library Trustee. We have a family place on Lost Lake in Northern Wisconsin so I like to spend time there in the summer and fall. While my mother was living I spent time in my hometown Perry, Illinois, but she died in April, 2000, at age 101. Her mind was so good. I still would like to ask her more questions.

I have a garden and flowers which I enjoy.

I remember your high school class well. Forty years goes fast, doesn't it?

As Ever, Betty Morris
