Prior to entering the field of education I served two and one-half years in the United States Army during World War II. I was in the 36th Infantry Division with service in North Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Austria. Following military service I entered college, earning degrees from Shurtleff College and Washington University with additional studies at Illinois State University and Bradley University.

My wife, Wilma Lee, was Chenoa High School librarian from 1968-1973. Our three sons, Wesley, Cary and Russell attended Chenoa Schools. Wesley graduated from Chenoa High School in 1972.

As I reflect on the schools and communities in which I worked and lived, my time in Chenoa was the most satisfying from both a professional and personal viewpoint.
