Chenoa High School Teacher
|
Class of 1962. It doesn't seem possible that 40 years have passed. I retired from teaching Industrial Arts at Chenoa High School in June 1994. My wife Shirley will be retiring at the end of this school year, 2002. She has transported Vocational, Spec. Ed., and Kindergarten students the past 34 years. We are also antique dealers and have been for a number of years and will continue with that business. We do a lot of antique shows, flea markets and are in several antique malls. I enjoy repairing the junk that Shirley buys and reselling it for rare, valuable antiques. Our son, Jay and his wife Marci, live here in Chenoa and have 3 children. Joey is in 3rd grade, Kelli is in kindergarten and Sammy is 2 1/2. Jay works for the city as water superintendent and Marci is opening a flower shop (which will also house some of our antiques) on the east edge of Chenoa on Rt. 24. She hopes to open the 15th of April. Our son Doug is employed at the Caterpillar Plant in Pontiac. He has 2 children. Stephanie is 18, a senior at Chenoa High School and will be attending Eastern Ill. Univ. this fall. Josh is 17, a Junior at Chenoa High School. They are both very active in sports, which keeps their grandparents on the run. Our daughter Dee lives in Fairbury and teaches Special Ed. at Pontiac High School. She is currently working toward her Masters Degree and will graduate in May. Her husband Tim is superintendent of Kaufman Park Golf Course in Eureka. They have 2 children. Morgan, a 3rd grader and Clay who is in pre-school. I have many fond memories of all of you, the class of 1962. We have been in some of your homes and have joined you for dinner at Arnie's Airport and really appreciate your invitations. We have a get-to-gether in our back yard on the 4th or July, so if any of you are in Chenoa on the 4th, please stop by. We would love to see you. Sincerely, |
