The earliest known Sullivan is Jeremiah Sullivan, listed below, who lived his life in Ireland. He and his wife probably had more than two children, but the only ones known are Jerry and Patrick who were the emigrants to America. Patrick Sullivan and his young family originally lived in New York and then moved to Fairbury, Illinois. His brother, Jerry, lived in Fairbury as well. Both Sullivan brothers were employed as coal miners in the Fairbury area before turning to farming.
